LSU defeats Iowa to win its first NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship The LSU Tigers beat the Iowa Hawkeyes 102-85 on Sunday to win the program’s first NCAA women’s basketball national championship in Dallas, Texas
LSU also shot a blistering 58% from the field in the first 6 months, including 75% from three-point range.
The Tigers’ 59 first half points set a new record for most points scored in a single half in a women’s championship game and also gave LSU a 17-point lead going into the locker room.

After the game, Carson described the game as “unreal” for his side.
“Every player keeps dreaming of being on a big stage like this and having the game of their life, and for it to come through – it means a lot,” she added.
